WHOLE 30 UPDATE, DAYS 20-28

photo-17Almost finished!  During this past week, I felt really great.  Energy levels, mood, and sleep have all seen improvements.  While I am motivated by this progress, it is the habits I have formed that will allow me to continue to improve.  It is not a quick fix, it is a process!

I have decided that I am going to be really strategic about what I choose to re-introduce and when.  When you get to this point of Whole 30, you really don’t want to completely go off the rails because you feel so amazing!  I will most likely have ice cream soon after I finish (to be specific, one scoop each of Coffee Toffee and Sea Salt Caramel from Sweet Firefly!), and then I am going to try to keep it clean until Thanksgiving dinner.

I have learned that I can indulge in certain things I enjoy and then go back to a Whole 30/Paleo hybrid and maintain my results.  If I start to feel like I am having too many treats, then I can do a couple days strict Whole 30 to get back on track.  That is the beauty of this lifestyle/plan!  You learn so much about what works for your body during the 30 days, and you can always go back to it for a couple days, a week, or another month if you feel the need to.

One thing I have noticed is that I like the rules and structure, a little too much probably!  I just feel like there is less to think about when I am following the rules.  It feels strange at first to have more “choices.”  Through this program, I have formed new habits and a mindset about food that will keep me on a healthy track .  I believe the most important part of doing the Whole 30 is breaking old habits and forming new, healthier ones! What is the most important habit you have kicked or formed while doing the Whole 30?
