What to Pack for a Ski Trip

What to pack for a ski trip

Today I’m rounding up my favorite classic ski day essentials!

These neutral layers are my go-to’s for staying warm and looking chic on the mountain. I’ve had them for several years now and they still look new and perform well. They’ve been a great investment!

Lately I’ve been obsessing over chic one piece suits and luxe goggles/accessories. Marisa and I each got a gorgeous Nils one piece this year and love them! She got the red and I got the black. They’re so comfortable and warm to wear on the slopes! I’ve shared more of my favorite ski finds in the boutique below…

Our ski destination is usually Taos Ski Valley…

We love visiting and spending time here any time of year! This mountain is special to our family because it’s where we grew up skiing and where our kids have developed their love for snowsports. Many great memories are created here year-round!

My Ski Trip Packing List

1 / Smith Ski Goggles– Our favorite comfortable and lightweight goggles, available in many color combos and styles. I’ve also been eyeing this pair of designer goggles…

2 /  Athleta or Lululemon Long Sleeve Base Layer Tops– Perfect for layering under a ski jacket to keep extra warm thanks to sweat wicking fabric! Bonus if it’s a turtleneck style, or if not I add a neck gaiter. Don’t forget a comfortable sports bra (my pick: lululemon Energy Bra, supportive for skiing and winter workouts)! I also wear these layers with tanks for my winter workouts.

3 / Ski Mittens– I switched from ski gloves to mittens and I’ll never go back! I love this pair with a liner and zipper that makes it easy to use your fingers without taking off the entire glove, They’re easier on/off and work well with Hot Hands warmers (linked below) …

4 / Smartwool Socks– Good socks are key to keeping your feet warm and comfortable in ski boots all day! As long as my feet and toes are cozy I’m ready to go…makes all the difference.

5 / Hot Hands Hand Warmers– I keep these in my jacket pocket all the time just in case! They also work great in my ski mittens on colder days…

6 / Obermeyer Ski PantsVery comfortable and warm without added bulk. I layer them over my leggings for a flattering look. I have these in black and also white. (We are both wearing them in the photos below) I also have and love this high rise pair!

7 / Smith Ski Helmet– very lightweight and keeps your head and ears extra warm!

8 / Lululemon Fast and Free or Base Pace Leggings– I wear these high waisted, sweat wicking leggings under my ski pants and for winter workouts. They do double duty! For extra warmth also try brushed leggings that are lightly fleece lined.

9 / It Cosmetics CC Cream– I love to wear the original moisturizing, full coverage CC cream for extra sun protection and smooth finish. For a lighter more sheer coverage try the “Nude Glow” version of the CC cream…

10 / Sorel Tofino Boots– My favorite to wear before and after skiing! They’re super warm and waterproof, also perfect for wearing around town with jeans or leggings and a sweater. I also like the Joan of Arctic style but they’re a little more heavyweight/bulky so I prefer the more streamlined Tofino overall. The Tivoli style (short or tall) is another streamlined favorite!

11 / Obermeyer Tuscany Jacket– This style is a favorite and comes in several colors. We love Obermeyer for their flattering fit, affordable price point, and high quality. Marisa and I share three Obermeyer ski jackets that we mix and match, navy, black, and black on black leopard! We also love the shiny Bombshell Jacket (both wearing this style below)

Love all of the ski gear. Out of curiosity, what’s the fit of the smith goggles? Are they good on petite face frames? I’ve tried soooo many goggles but haven’t tried these yet so I’m curious!

Hi Tanya! Yes, they are great. I would say I have a smaller face frame and they hug my face nicely, not too wide looking if you know what i mean!
