What to Pack for a Ski Trip, Packing List Skiing

We love skiing and spending time in Taos Ski Valley while we’re in New Mexico! This mountain is special to our family because it’s where we grew up skiing and where our kids have developed their love for snowsports. We create many great memories here year-round!

I’m rounding up my favorite classic ski day essentials! These layers are my go-to’s for staying warm and looking chic on the mountain. I wouldn’t call myself an  advanced skier, but it never hurts to try to look the part, ha!

1 /  Lululemon Energy Bra– super comfortable and supportive for skiing and winter workouts

2 /  Smith Ski Helmet– very lightweight and keeps your head and ears extra warm

3 /  Smartwool Socks– Good socks are key to keeping your feet warm and comfortable when in ski boots all day! As long as my feet and toes are cozy I’m ready to go…makes all the difference.

4 /  Sorel Tofino Boots– My favorite to wear before and after skiing. They’re super warm and waterproof, also perfect for wearing around town with jeans or leggings and a sweater. I also like the Joan of Arctic style but they are a little more heavyweight/bulky so I prefer the more streamlined Tofino overall.

5 /  It Cosmetics CC Cream– I love to wear this moisturizing cream for extra sun protection and it provides even coverage.

6 /  Obermeyer Bond Ski Pants– Very comfortable and warm without added bulk. I layer them over my leggings for a flattering look. I have a black pair and also white.

7 /  Athleta or Lululemon Long Sleeve Base Layer Tops– Perfect for layering under my ski jacket to keep extra warm thanks to sweat wicking fabric!  Bonus if it’s a turtleneck style, or if not I add a neck gaiter. I also wear these layers over tanks for winter workouts.

8 /  Hot Hands Hand Warmers– I keep these in my jacket pocket all the time! They also work great in my ski mittens on colder days…

9 /  Smith Ski Goggles– Our favorite comfortable and lightweight goggles, available in many color combos.

10 /  Scott Ski Mittens– I switched from ski gloves to mittens and I’ll never go back! They’re easier on/off and work with Hot Hands…

11 / Lululemon Fast and Free or High Rise Wunder Train Leggings- I wear these high waisted, sweat wicking leggings under my ski pants and for workouts. They do double duty!

12 / Obermeyer Tuscany Jacket– This style is a favorite and comes in several colors. We love Obermeyer for their flattering fit, good price point, and high quality. Marisa and I share three ski jackets and two pairs of pants that we mix and match! We also love the shiny Bombshell Jacket. (For fit reference, the Tuscany is slightly longer and more of a relaxed fit than the Bombshell. But we love both!)

Love all of the ski gear. Out of curiosity, what’s the fit of the smith goggles? Are they good on petite face frames? I’ve tried soooo many goggles but haven’t tried these yet so I’m curious!

Hi Tanya! Yes, they are great. I would say I have a smaller face frame and they hug my face nicely, not too wide looking if you know what i mean!
