START YOUR YEAR WITH THE WHOLE30!

Loubies and Lulu January Whole30Happy New Year, Everyone!  Are you looking for a great way to start your year and help you reach your health goals?  Join me for the January Whole30!  I am starting January 11th, a bit late due to a change in travel plans.  And, also due to the need to have a week to get myself organized and back into a normal routine once I get back to Dallas!  Just being honest:-)  I will be posting more information here leading up to it, as well as posting links to my favorite Whole30 posts from the past two years on social media, but just wanted to fill you all in on the new start date since I had originally planned to start Jan 1st.

Whatever your reasons are for wanting to improve your health and relationship with food, the Whole30 is a great way to start!  If you have been following me for a while, you know that I am a big advocate of the program because of the changes I have experienced while following it.  My health, body, mindset, and relationship with food have changed in positive ways through the Whole30.  For me, it has become a lifestyle that I am happy and comfortable with.  Do a little research to see if it is the right choice for you!

The Whole30 is a nutritional reset that is NOT drastic or harmful to your body.  Not only is this way of eating sustainable, but you can continue to reach your goals on this program over time.  I have done several rounds, for the entire 30 days, and some mini-Whole30s, and each time I learn something different and hone in on specific needs I have.  At first glance it may seem drastic to cut out certain foods, but once you start to feel the improvements in how you feel, it is worth it!  Once you start to eat the most nutrient dense foods, you lose the cravings for the foods (such as sugary treats) that you thought you couldn’t live without.  And, you also will develop an awareness of how your body reacts to specific foods.  With traditional dieting, we tend to ignore our body’s signals when it comes to food, and the Whole30 helps to get you back in touch with those natural signals.  Here is the good news: The Whole30 is NOT a diet!

So, have I convinced you yet?  Comment below if you are interested in doing the Whole30 along with me, or if you have any questions….And, head over to the official site, whole30.com for more info!  If you are on instagram, a couple of my favorite sources for recipe ideas and support are the @whole30 and the @whole30recipes feed.  Lots of great meal ideas, and because they are run by Whole30, you don’t have to worry about whether or not the recipes are compliant, because all of them are!

I ordered the book after reading this post last week! I’m one of those people who can’t drop the half and half, so this may be a serious test of my self-control. Lost weight, got pregnant, gained a lot, lost it again, injured knee, gained a little back, now I can’t get back to where I was. This may be the answer to the plateau, but more importantly, to feeling better overall again!

Hi Amy! I hope you enjoy the book…it was a game changer for me. Ah, yes, the half and half can be tough to drop, but remember that it is only for 30 days. See how you feel without it, you might not miss it as much as you think. Finding a really good tasting coffee helps for drinking it black. Or mix in a bit of full fat coconut milk and cinnamon. I have two kids as well, and this really helped me get on a good track nutrition-wise. I have always loved exercising but had a major sugar addiction. I couldn’t out-exercise a bad diet, and it was unhealthy to be craving sweets all the time. This made a huge difference in what my body looks like, and more importantly, how it FEELS. Give it your best shot…and keep me posted!!
