MEGAFORMER PILATES AT STUDIO 6

photo-169Studio 6 is unique in that it offers Pilates, Barre, and Yoga, all under one roof.

I’ve heard great things about it, and was happy to be invited to try a class at their spacious new Park Lane studio in Dallas!

The Concept:

The name, Studio 6, comes from the 6 Principles that are incorporated into each class:  Core, Strength, Balance, Endurance, Flexibility, and Spirit.  Studio 6 workouts are designed to be intense on the muscles but minimize stress on the joints and spine, all the while lifting the spirit and mind in an encouraging, welcoming and fun environment.

Location/Parking:

The studio is located in the Park Lane development, on the same side as Whole Foods market.  It is easy to get to, and plenty of parking is available.  They also have another location at Preston/Forest.

The Class:

I signed up for the Megaformer™ Class taught by Ryan.  It is the signature Pilates class at Studio 6.  This class utilizes the unique, state of the art black edition Megaformers™ to provide a total body workout that combines cardio and strength training with pilates.

Studio 6 Dallas TXWhat I Loved:

  • Fast paced and fun, time flew by!  The workout was tough, don’t get me wrong, but when you get moving, you lose track of time…in a good way.
  • Ryan lead the class, encouraging, and pushing us to do our best with good form.
  • Great selection of clothing, jewelry, gifts, accessories, and Studio 6 branded apparel in the boutique.
  • If you are new to Pilates, they offer a Megaformer Basic class, which moves at a slightly slower pace.  Helps to familiarize yourself with form, movements, and the machines.  This class will give you a great start and more confidence as you progress to the regular Megaformer class, which moves more quickly.

Studio 6 has so generously given me a top and a pair of Pilates socks to give away to one of you…All you have to do is follow both @loubiesandlulu AND @studio6fitness and tag a friend in the comments on my Studio 6 giveaway post.

**To book my class at Studio 6, I used my (complimentary) ClassPass.

ClassPass is a group fitness class membership that gives you access to several of the best fitness studios in town (available in Dallas, and other cities, too).  Click here to skip the wait list, and learn more about ClassPass!

For Pilates classes, I like to wear long or cropped leggings and a fitted or slightly fitted top that stays close to the body and won’t ride up when doing the exercises on the Megaformer.  Sticky socks are also a must-have so that you won’t slip and can maintain your grip on the machine.  Shop my picks below…
