BOLD COLOR AND STRIPES

During my recent session with Front Door Fashion, not only did my stylist select pieces I loved instantly, she also had a few “wild card” items for me to try…

This bright, painterly stripe Amanda Uprichard dress was one of them!  It was out of my comfort zone to go for stripes and bold color all at once, but this I fell in love with this dress the minute I tried it on.  It’s actually really nice to have someone else shop for you every once in a while!  It totally takes the guesswork out of finding new styles to try that work for you…(FYI:  I found that this line fits very true to size, and is great for those of us on the shorter side.  The petite size was a perfect fit, and required no alterations…yay!)

I loved the silhouette of the dress, with cut in shoulders and a racerback.  You can’t tell in the photos, but it is made of a scuba/neoprene type fabric that is very comfortable.  The stripes are bright and look pixelated when you see it up close.  Although it is a standout piece, you can still style it for different occasions, using various shoes and jewelry.

I added a chunky necklace and a black oversized clutch with a touch of cobalt (in the same fabric).  I tried on the dress with classic black pointed toe pumps as well as the cutout detail pumps I’m wearing here.  Both looked great, but I went with the cutout pair (also adorable in blush!) to add some extra detail to the look.  Headed into cooler weather, a fitted black leather jacket will look so cute layered over this dress!

You may have noticed that my hair is a bit shorter than it was this summer!

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting the brand new Artists + Architects Salon in Dallas.  During a consultation with Creative Director, Derek Sansone, he worked with me to find the right style for my hair and lifestyle.  I explained that I wear it up to workout often, and that I wanted something slightly shorter, with added shape, and easy to style.  He exceeded my expectations and gave me a stylish, refreshed version of my beloved bob.  I enjoyed my time at this beautiful, modern, yet relaxed salon and walked away with a fabulous new cut!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!
