Over the summer, I thought about ways I could celebrate two years of blogging. I was a slow starter in my first year, and did not do anything special to mark year one. But, in my second year, I felt I gained some ground and started to find my voice. Blogging is a process that constantly teaches me something and allows me to be creative! I love it! I wanted to do something to celebrate the blog, readers, and the wonderful people that I’ve had the privilege of meeting and working with because of Loubies and Lulu. In a conversation about this with Brandi Marino, the owner of Beyond Studios, she mentioned that Beyond offers private Pilates classes/parties. I knew instantly that a Beyond Party would be the perfect way to celebrate two years of fitness and style at L & L!
So, to launch this Birthday Celebration, I gathered a group of friends for a Girls Night Out Pilates class at Beyond Studios last Saturday evening. Our class was taught by Kristin Krenzer, one of Beyond’s amazing instructors. Everyone was excited to take class at Beyond. There were only a couple of us who had been there before, so for several, it was their first time. I reassured those who were a bit worried beforehand that there would be lots of modifications offered! These parties are so great because they can be customized for groups ranging from attendees who have lots of pilates experience to first-timers. Kristin put everyone at ease from the beginning and gave an overview of how the reformer works and what to expect. Beyond also thoughtfully provided water bottles and a pair of new pilates socks for each of us!

Our class was SO much fun. The playlist that Kristin put together kept us motivated to keep going the entire class. For each movement she gave helpful cues and offered modifications to make it more or less difficult. We did rounds of movements on the reformers, cardio blasts on the trampolines, and sets of lunges, and movements with weights on the floor. It was a challenging workout, and an awesome way to come together with friends to celebrate. We worked our entire bodies and got super sweaty…basically, we went BEYOND! I was so proud of all of my friends who came to the class, they all gave 100 percent!
After class, we enjoyed champagne and Clean Sweets from Kristen Massad of Ink Foods. She made two delicious treats for us, Mini Paleo Red Velvet Cupcakes with Meringue (dairy and grain free!) , and Coconut Banana Chia Pudding in cute little shot glasses. A perfect + sweet way to end our evening!

Cheers to Two Years!
If you are looking for a unique way to celebrate an occasion, or just an excuse to get all of your girls together (and guys, too!), definitely book a party at Beyond! They will customize a class just for you, and even take song, playlist, or theme requests! I want to do this again very soon. Everyone loved it!! Thank you, Brandi + Kristin for a great girls night out at Beyond 🙂
AND, coming in October, is the new concept by Beyond Studios, Beyond 500! (In addition to regularly scheduled classes, they will be booking private group classes there, too.) It is a 50 minute workout combining the Pilates Chair + Woodway Curve treadmills. More on that in an upcoming blog post….can’t wait to try it! Sounds like it will be an amazing workout!
