Healthy Pool Day Essentials

I love lazy summer days spent by the pool!

But I don’t like to waste time searching for the items we need to bring! To pack our pool bag quickly, I keep a bag stocked with essentials in the mudroom ready to go; fresh towels, sunscreens, goggles, pool toys, etc.

Then, we add healthy snacks and cold drinks before heading out the door! Here’s a list of my Pool Bag Essentials for a healthy, relaxing day poolside…

Top 10 Pool Bag Essentials…

1. Always start with healthy snacks…

Natural Delights Mini Medjools are a perfectly portable bite-sized summer snack! Available in 3 varieties, they’re a wholesome, delicious blend of Medjool Dates and simple ingredients such as nuts and seeds.

They’re great for keeping your energy up on active pool days! All three flavors are wonderful but my current fave is brownie-like Cacao Pecan…pure chocolatey, caramelly goodness without added sugar! Sweet and Salty Almond and Coconut are tasty too! All varieties are gluten free and a good source of fiber.

2. Balance the sweet with salty and savory!

I like to be prepared with our own stash of healthy savory snacks as well, such as jerky sticks for protein, individual packs of nut butters and olives for healthy fats, and pre-cut veggies and plantain chips. (Not savory, but fresh fruit makes the cut too!)

I just grab whatever is available in the fridge and pantry for a different combo every time! It’s easy to put them into a larger lunchbots container for a bento snack box to share. Saves money and helps us make better snack choices while we’re there!

3. Towel Clips

These cute clips are a must for keeping my towel in place on my chair!

4. Clean Beauty Sunscreen-

Love the mineral SPF 30 formula from Taos Aer! It goes on smoothly and blends quickly. It has a nice matte, non shiny finish. You can even use it on your face!

5. Oventure Silicone Pouch-

This zippered silicone pouch connects to my key ring and keeps my phone safe and dry! Plenty of space for lip balm, sunnies, cash/cards. Available in two different sizes

6. Sunglasses & Hat-

A straw hat or baseball cap provides extra protection from the sun! Wallaroo hats with built in UPF 50 are a favorite, along withoversized plastic frame sunnies.

7. Insulated Water Bottle or Cup-

Hydroflask or Yeti containers keep drinks extra cold for hours!

8. Electrolytes-

A packet of LMNT electrolytes mixed into my water for extra hydration and electrolytes is my favorite. I’m obsessed with raspberry, citrus, and orange (all stevia sweetened). So refreshing and especially important on hot Texas days! I also love Lyteline lemon flavored electrolytes

9. Cute Cover Up-

Love a good cover up to wear to/from the pool! This crochet set is a current favorite along with this $40 amazon find

10. Waterproof Slides or Flip Flops-

Can’t go wrong with classic flip flops or slides to protect feet when outside of the pool.

You might have noticed, healthy snacks are a priority and the key to keeping everyone happy at the pool! What are your favorite Pool Day essentials? Happy pool season, friends! Thanks for stopping by!
