My Power Hour | Sweaty Betty

Power LeggingsIn my last post, I talked about how I’m resetting nutrition habits going into fall.  I’m also looking at my workout routine and thinking through goals for the next few months.  I loved having a race goal to work towards this summer.  It gave my training more focus, which is something I felt empowered by.  I’m currently giving thought to what I want that goal to be…maybe another race, or a free-standing handstand (which I’ve always wanted to work on, but inversions make me nervous)?

One thing I prioritize is getting a new resistance training program from The Move Project every few months.  It’s built specifically for my body/training needs, keeps my workouts fresh, and helps prevent injury.  I’ve said this before, but its worth saying again:  My time spent training in the gym makes me feel confident and strong!  Some days I don’t feel like going, but when I power through those feelings, I never regret it.  I’ll also continue to do yoga, pilates, cycling, or running 1-2 times per week to mix up my routine…and rest days, of course!

I’m planning to share a fall workout here soon, so be on the lookout for that!  And, if you have any questions or there’s something specific you’d like to see here workout-wise, let me know.  I’m planning my content for the next few months and I always love to hear what you are looking for!

Let’s talk about this outfit!  Y’all know I love an all-black ensemble, but today I’m sharing a look with a shot of color!  The new Power Leggings from Sweaty Betty are quickly becoming a favorite!  (Available in black capri and full length styles as well.)  They’re sweat-wicking and supportive, with a comfortable high waist fit and feel.  As a 7/8 length, they’re ankle length on me.  The fabric has just enough compression, making them perfect for any activity.  They would be just as great for running as they’d be for weights, pilates, or yoga.

An important thing to mention is they’re very opaque and the print does not show white easily when stretched out, the way some prints can do.  The stitching is flattering and also features reflective details at the lower leg and a pocket in the back waistband.

Get ready to see this sports bra a lot this fall, because I’m obsessed with it!  The front strappy detail looks great with a tank or tee with a lower neckline.  It also comes is a pretty shade of navy.  The back is strappy and adjustable for a customized fit.

I appreciate a well made basic tank like this one!  It layers well over any sports bra and is super versatile.  It’s a longer length that works as-is or tied up in a knot on the side or front!  In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been on a huge sneaker kick lately…shocking, I know!  I just picked up the latest version of my go-to Nike Free running sneakers and while I love the simple black and white, I have my eye on a few of the fun colors this season.
