Part of staying consistent with working out in the hot summer months is picking up some new pieces to add to my active wardrobe. Having cute things to wear to the gym and to classes motivates me…how about you? As silly as it may sound, fun workout clothes give me the extra boost I need to get out the door some days! Here are my top picks for summer active trends:
High Rise Leggings: My new love! I have purchased a few of these, and I don’t think I can go back to low rise. These are just so comfortable and flattering on everyone. These are both from Lululemon. The purple ones are the “Seamlessly Street” Crops and the Navy ones are the “In the Flow II” *Pattern Special Edition Crop.
Lightweight Shorts: In the past, I have not been a huge fan of shorts, but slowly I have warmed up to them! Great-fitting, lightweight shorts are a summer essential for working out or lounging in. These are the “Pulse” shorts from Athleta.
Breezy Tanks: Love these loose tanks that can be worn over a bright strappy sports bra. I like to wear them as they are, or knotted up on the side or in back. The blue tank is from Forever 21, and the grey tank is the Lululemon “105F Singlet”.
Luxe Lounge Pants: Everyone needs a great looking pair of lounge pants. They should be somewhat fitted in the hips/booty area, so they don’t appear sloppy! The navy ones, pictured, are one of my all time faves, the “Street to Studio” pants from Lululemon. I have had my eye on the black Aspire pants from Athleta for a few weeks now. Might just have to take the plunge and get them. Love the shirring on the ankles and the zipper pockets!
Cagey Cutouts: I am a fan of cutout details. I love this caged cutout sports bra from Forever 21, and it is a major steal at just $13.80! The cropped leggings with side cutouts are fun too, also from Forever 21.
Mesh Insets: These are just awesome! I had to have these Lululemon “High Times” Tech Mesh cropped leggings! Love the mesh details in front, plain black on the backside. The mesh ones are sold out online, but there are several solid colors available.
