Taos, New Mexico, will always be close to my heart. It’s where my husband and I grew up, surrounded by the unique charm and deep-rooted traditions that make Taos so special. Even after 21 years of living in Dallas, we still come back a few times a year to reconnect with family and let our kids experience the magic of our hometown. If you’re planning to visit Taos, I’ve put together a list of the best places to stay below. From luxurious hotels and quirky Airstream travel trailers to cozy vacation homes and rooftop apartments in the heart of the town, this list covers the best spots to help you fully soak in the magic of this incredible town. Best Hotels to Stay in Taos

The Dobson House aka the “Famous Taos Earthship”

If you’re on the hunt for a truly unique place to stay, check out The Dobson House, also known as the “Famous Taos Earthship.” Besides its eco-friendly design, what really sets it apart is the stunning view. It overlooks the Rio Grande Gorge and is surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. If you’re into Earthship Biotecture be sure to visit the Earthship Community northwest of Taos in Tres Piedras. The community includes more than 300 acres of shared land, and is fully off the grid, using solar and wind power exclusively. Some of the homes, can be rented out by the night.
