The second trend in the Galleria Dallas Summer Active style series is Athleisure!
Athleisure can mean a lot of different things. When I think about it, active pieces that pull double duty, or pieces that can be added to an active look to take it up a notch, come to mind. To me, that means versatile pieces that work at the studio/gym, or for lunch (or even dinner) out! Just add your favorite accessories to complete the look. I think that these days, people really want comfortable, chic clothing that works for them, and can be worn in multiple ways. This trend is the perfect example of that!
For this trend, Holly and I knew immediately that lululemon would be the place to go to find exactly what we needed for an Athleisure look!
One of the reasons I love lululemon is that they consistently carry a variety of active and street wear pieces, many of which blur the line between the two. Total justification for my lulu collection…right? Add to that, the impeccable fit and performance fabrics, and you can see why I’m hooked!
We built this look around the Jet Crop, a tapered, slouchy pant…
This type of pant was out of my comfort zone, but I’m glad I tried them…I ended up really liking them! Fit tip: size down in these, as they run big, imo. Also try the Jet Crop Slim, same pant but with a slimmer cut through the hips and legs. Either way, they’re the comfiest pants ever!! We added a drapey Tencel camisole and a strappy sports bra to keep with the sporty and stylish vibe. To finish the look, we accessorized with gold jewelry and sandals, cat-eye sunglasses, and a two-tone handbag, all from Belk. For chillier evenings or major a/c, a light cardigan or denim jacket would layer nicely. I also think a wedge sandal would compliment and balance these pants. So many great options!
