What to Pack: Holiday Ski Trip

As I mentioned yesterday, we’ll be traveling to Taos, NM for the holidays!  If you’ve been reading for a while, you know that both Ryan and I grew up there.  It’s always such a treat to return with our kids!  We love to enjoy the beauty of Taos and its surrounding areas, and spending time with family and friends.

When we visit in the winter we love to ski.  Last year after a long hiatus, I got back into skiing last year and fell in love with it all over again.  Now, I’m not saying I’m actually any good at it, but being back on the mountain felt wonderful!  Taking lessons through the TSV adult ski school was key in beginning to gain confidence on the slopes once again.  I’m planning to take group lessons this season, too!

The ski jacket and pants (pictured above) from Saint Bernard were the perfect outerwear pieces for me last season.  I’m packing them again this time!  Whether I’m shopping online or in-store, Saint Bernard is my go-to place to find the best winter gear for the entire family…

I love this jacket because it looks just as good on the mountain as it does paired with denim or leggings.  It has a great fit and is available in several colors.  Also love the coordinating pants, super comfy and warm.  Underneath, base layers or a sweat wicking pullover and thick running tights keep the chill away!  Wool performance socks, a neck gaiter, ski gloves, a helmet, and goggles are also must-haves…

More Ski Gear

When packing for winter in Taos, I include lots of versatile layers for skiing and casual wear, plus warm, comfortable boots!  When braving the snow and the mud, having good weatherproof footwear is a must…and accessories to keep you warm, (like scarves, gloves, and hats) are also important!

I look to Sorel and Ugg each season to see what’s new!  These grey Tivoli boots keep my feet toasty before and after skiing, and also look super cute with jeans or activewear.  This year I got a pair of Sorel wedge boots and love them…they add a fresh spin to my cold weather style!

More Winter Boots:

Can’t forget to pack sunglasses, hats, and scarves….I always pack at least two of each!

A few more things I’ll be adding to my suitcase:
