This was our first time visiting Miami, and we only scratched the surface!
There’s so much to see and do in this vibrant city and I absolutely want to return to see more of it! Due to a cancelled flight and having to move all of our reservations our trip was cut short by one day. We had 4 full days and 3 nights so we aimed to make the most of our time there. See my Miami reels recap for more…
It was a relaxing yet energizing visit with equal amounts beach time and city exploration…
I’m excited to share what we did and what I wore on this trip! I had fun shopping for a few new pieces for this trip knowing that the weather would be warm and the Miami vibe is playful and filled with color. It was a chance to veer from my usual neutrals and I’m so glad I did! Another great resource I used to plan our trip was Lindsay Silberman’s Miami Travel Guide, for insider scoop…
Where we stayed…
Thanks to a recommendation from a friend (thanks, Sydney!) we found last minute accommodations at the Cadillac Hotel and Beach Club. It was fantastic, a perfect fit for us! We really wanted beachfront and we absolutely loved the set up, location, and attentive service at this hotel!
It had more of a boutique hotel feel to it but still had two pools (one for adults only), two great restaurants and a beautiful bar. Family friendly but also adult friendly! We also loved the access to the beachside walking trail…
Miami Day One
We arrived Tuesday morning (my birthday!) and went straight to the hotel to check in. Then we headed out to explore the area. We had lunch at Hola Taqueria and visited the Lincoln Road outdoor shops. On the way we stopped at KITH and Joe and the Juice for coffee and smoothies. I’m bummed that I didn’t get to try the cereal infused soft serve ice cream at KITH, (but I will next time)!
Outfit Details
We had a 6am flight so comfortable was key! lululemon studio joggers / swiftly long sleeve race length top / sneakers / Think Royln crossbody bag (love it, has 3 different straps to interchange)
We went for a long walk to explore the area, then back to the hotel to rest and change for dinner…
Marisa and I had been eyeing Nobu Miami for weeks and we were thrilled to secure a last minute reservation! As expected, it was ah-mazing! Ryan and I had been to Nobu in Dallas before but this was the kids first time at Nobu. Of course, they both loved it!
Outfit Details
We stopped at Brit Rose, one of our fave Dallas boutiques the day before we left and found some gems! Marisa got a chic blazer romper (has an chic, subtle cutout in back) and I fell in love with this paisley print pant set! The pants are super high waisted and flattering. I wore them with my highest wedge sandals! It also had a matching short ruffled skirt, so of course I had to get all three pieces…an all time fave bday outfit for sure! Unfortunately the exact set is sold out but they have some similar sets available.
What we ordered at Nobu:
Our faves included the yellowtail jalapeño sashimi appetizer, spicy tuna and yellowtail sushi rolls, and the black cod entree. Birthday dessert was their fried donuts to share with extra scoops of ice cream. Heavenly!!
After dinner we took the kids back to the hotel and Ryan and I headed out for drinks at the lounge at the stunning Faena Hotel. We’d heard great things about it and were so impressed with the decor and vibe! Plus I wanted to see the enormous golden wooly mammoth in the courtyard! I ordered the Garden Party cocktail (vodka/soda with mint and lime) and it was lovely!
Miami Day Two
But first, coffee…
Outfit Details
An all time fave Carbon38 set in a bright new color! This ribbed tank and leggings (on sale), sneakers, and crossbody were perfect for a morning walk/coffee stop with Ryan! Available in several colors, runs TTS.
After coffee/breakfast, we headed to the beach!
The Cadillac beach attendants quickly set us up in our cabana and we enjoyed hours of gorgeous Miami sunshine. Our favorite part was having lunch and drinks delivered to our cabana each day! I also loved that we had shade to take breaks under while still enjoying the view.
Outfit Details
one shoulder top / high rise high cut bottoms / all weather bracelets
J. Crew Swim for the win! I love that their sizing is consistent, just a matter of finding the right style. Makes ordering online easy! This was my first all white suit, and loved how well made and comfortable it was. Bottoms were slightly cheeky but not overly so IMO. Fabric is slightly textured and not at all sheer.
Later that afternoon we hit the Design District!
Miami Design District is several blocks filled with beautiful eateries and high end retail, everywhere you turned there was something interesting to see! We loved the colorful art installations and murals scattered throughout and the unique architecture of the buildings. The Dior and Fendi boutiques even have their own cafes where you can grab a highly instagrammable cup of coffee or tea (!) but we were too late to get on the list for the day!
Outfit Details
Easy, chic separates! My outfit, above: black linen shorts / white double lined bodysuit / woven slides
Marisa’s outfit, below: button down shirt / denim shorts / sneakers / handbag
We stayed in the Design District to watch the sunset and had a cozy patio dinner at Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink. Andrew tried oysters for the first time and loved them!
Miami Day Three
Sleep, eat, beach, repeat! It was another sunshine filled Miami morning so we hit the beach first thing!
Outfit Details
Marisa and I found this crochet skirt at Forever 21 and had to have it in both black and ivory! My puff shoulder bikini is an amazing under $40 amazon find this season!! (the bottoms were more cheeky than I prefer so I found an identical tie front bottom from J Crew with a bit more coverage to pair with the top.) It’s all about feeling confident and comfortable, amiright?!
This is the suit that got all the compliments on the beach. I even had a few women stop to ask me where it was from! I wore this with my silicone pouch/wristlet (use code lulu15 to save), all weather bangles, wide brim hat, and flip flops.
After the beach, we headed to Pura Vida for a late lunch!
We loved the delicious bowls at this healthy concept eatery filled with protein, veggies, and fresh sauces. multiple locations in Miami.
Wynwood Art District was next on our list!
We stopped at Suite Habana Cafe for a coffee/tea on the way. Lovely little coffeehouse, might have been the strongest, smoothest iced Americano I’ve ever had. No joke!!
Wynwood Walls was our destination, an outdoor museum/installation with graffiti art, sculptures, and huge murals. They add new artists regularly. It was wonderful! We were short on time so this was our only stop. But there are also lots of other things to see and do in this area.
Outfit Details
My Outfit: one shoulder dress (on sale) / wrap sandals (older, similar here) / knotted mini bag
Marisa’s Outfit: cutout dress / sneakers / handbag
Went back to the hotel for a quick change then headed out to (an early for Miami!) dinner…
Casa Tua was at the top of our list of places for dinner, but it was booked solid during spring break. We called and they told us to come early and we might get in so we did!
It was so worth it for the incredible atmosphere and wonderful food/service! We had a table on their beautiful patio and enjoyed a candlelit dinner while we watched the sun go down. A perfect last night in Miami!
Outfit Details
Didn’t get a full length pic but loved my white tie front maxi halter dress (got petite length, no hemming required!) and Marisa’s sleeveless midi sweater dress (on sale $20!!) for this evening out!
Miami Day Four
Had to squeeze in one last morning at the beach!! It was such a treat to be with our family in this beautiful place for break…wanted to soak up every minute!
Outfit details
This resort wear two piece set is another fab find under $40! Its TTS, comes in many colors, and is so flattering! The white pants are lined so you can even wear them out. I got it in black as well.
After the beach we had a little time left to go to Bal Harbor for a late lunch and sightseeing!
We ate at Hillstone, browsed the Bal Harbour Shops, and had Bianco Gelato for dessert before heading to the airport! Andrew loved all the luxury car sightings here…
Outfit Details
Loved the fit and print of this shirt dress. Another Brit Rose find! Similar style dress here. This knot tie bag also has a crossbody strap and is a great little lightweight bag under $60! Woven slides, under $30.
Despite the delayed start we were so thankful for a wonderful stay in Miami Beach and hope to return soon! Have you been to Miami? What are your favorite spots to stay, play, and dine? Please do share!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day! xx
