FIRST IMPRESSIONS  The studio itself is beautifully decorated and airy.  Equipment is top notch and brand new.  The staff at the front desk are super friendly and helpful.  There is a lot of natural light flowing in the studio, pretty setting!  They have a juice bar offering juices and raw snacks.  There is also an area with active and casual clothing from brands such as Splits 59.  I like their motto:  beautiful, athletic, real.

THE WORKOUT  Kimberly was the instructor.  I have done reformer classes before, but this was different in a good way!  The entire class was set to music, which I loved.  I would say the focus was on leg work, but also hit arms and abs too.  She explained the exercises well and was very motivating.  The class flowed from work on the reformer machine to doing resistance training on the floor using hand weights, resistance bands, and weighted bars.  We also did bursts of short intense cardio, such as jumping jacks, running in place, and squat jumps.

FINAL THOUGHTS   I really enjoyed it, and would love to try the other classes they offer. It was tougher than I expected!  I am used to doing resistance training, but this challenged my muscles in a different way.  My legs were shaky halfway into the class after doing a few lunge sets on the reformer.  I was fatigued after class, but felt great!  Next time I will wear my heart rate monitor to see what my range will be.  I loved that you get the benefit of pilates with cardio and weights added in to take your heart rate up.  I felt it the next day….sore legs, butt, and abs!  I didn’t get to try anything from the raw juice bar this time, but will do that on my next visit!  The Chair class is next on my list.
