You may have seen my posts on social media about Creative Hangout, and wondered what it is…
So…I want to fill you in on this great group that has inspired and connected me with other local creatives! Creative Hangout is a Dallas-based networking group. The goal is to gather, mix & mingle, inspire & be inspired, connect, and “hang out” with like minded creatives.
The Idea
The idea came about during coffee-fueled brainstorming sessions with my friend, Stephanie Weibring, and her sister, Kristen Massad. We meet regularly to talk about how things are going with our blogs and businesses. We thought it would be fun to get a bigger group of friends and contacts together regularly to do the same thing, and in addition, have workshops, speakers, etc.
Steph had an even bigger vision of having an actual space to do this in, sort of a shared workspace and event venue. After toying around with this idea, we thought why wait until we had a space, and do it now?! (The actual space is still a goal, and we are hopeful it will happen in the future!)
What We Do
We meet monthly and have a unique focus/topic each time. The content varies, and we try to make it applicable to people working in different types of creative fields. It’s very fun, and a refreshing way to recharge your mind and spark creativity each month!
How We Do It
We usually meet at Green House Market at Northpark Center. There’s an informal meeting and mingling session at the beginning while people are arriving, and everyone can order delicious food and/or drinks from Green House. Then, we settle in and the speaker begins. After the speaker is through, they usually take questions, and many stay afterwards and hang out for a while.
It’s a very laid back and casual environment! Past hangouts have included photography tutorials, a goal setting workshop, corporate storytelling, creative marketing, and more…

This month’s Creative Hangout is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15th at 6:30pm, at Prive’ at The Second Floor at the Westin Galleria Dallas. Our speaker will be Holly Quartaro, Stylist for Galleria Dallas.
The focus will be on “back to work” style tips that will have you feeling chic and pulled together for anything you have on your agenda this season! I have personally worked with Holly before, and I can say from experience that she has quite the knack for creating outfits that will make you feel fabulous and confident! (Be sure to check out the Active Style Series we worked on together recently!)
