Hope you all had a great week! I’m settling in, here in Taos, and catching up a bit on my posts this weekend. We’ve having a wonderful time, and haven’t had much time to sit in front of my computer to post. But, I’ve been posting quite a bit on the go, on instagram (@loubiesandlulu). Be sure to follow me there if you aren’t already;-) I’ll still be blogging, but may be somewhat sporadic!
Before we left Dallas, it was crazy busy, but I squeezed in one last shoot with my friend, Stephanie Drenka because I just had to feature this jumpsuit from Athleta! I’d been on the hunt for the perfect jumpsuit for months, but hadn’t found the “right” one. When I say that, you know what I mean…with jumpsuits and rompers, fit is super important!
I’d given up hope when at my Athleta fit session (for the event I co-hosted a couple weeks ago), I spotted this one hanging with all the dresses. I had to try it on, of course, and was thrilled that it was a perfect fit. I wore it to the event, and also have worn it several times since, with everything from birkenstocks to wedges! With a quick switch of shoes, jewelry, and lip color, it’s easy to take it from daytime to an evening out.
What makes it amazing:
- Breathable, lightweight, silky stretch fabric
- Versatile! Can be dressed up or down (as I’m about to show you here!)
- Incredibly comfortable and has sun protection (UPF 50)
Jumpsuit: c/o Athleta / Wedges: Target / Necklace: Kendra Scott / Handbag (worn as clutch): Rebecca Minkoff (sold out, similar styles under $200 here and here) / Watch: Michael Kors / Lipstick: Tryst by Vapour Organic Beauty
A bit more casual: Jumpsuit: c/o Athleta / Bralette: Free People / Necklace: Kendra Scott / Sandals: Tory Burch / Denim Jacket: Old Navy / Lipstick: Desire by Vapour Organic Beauty (my go-to pink neutral!)
A funny side note…I wanted to show the pretty open cross back detail, so I wore a stick-on bra underneath. I always wear the Nu-Bra light or original, but because I had just literally packed up my closet to move, they were nowhere to be found. At the last minute, I purchased a similar one that was not the Nu-Bra brand and thought it would be just fine. Wrong!! It was hot the day we took the photos, and as soon as my body temperature rose, and I started to sweat a bit, the bra began to detach!! I couldn’t help but laugh and try to do my best despite the constant “adjustments.” I was so ready when it was time to switch to the casual look with the Free People strappy bra. So, lesson learned…don’t buy a generic stick on bra!
Thanks for stopping by! All of the pieces in my outfit(s) are linked below….
