Marisa’s graduation weekend was a very memorable, special time for our family!
It was important to me to be present in the moment and enjoy, so now I’m recapping all the fun we had (and what we wore!) for graduation weekend. Later this week, I’ll share pics from her grad party and the personal touches that made it extra special! I made up my mind early on that I wasn’t going to put pressure on myself to post that weekend. I don’t feel external pressure to post but I’ll admit I put pressure on myself to “keep up.” I decided I needed to let that go!
Hard to believe a week has passed since she walked across the stage. We had a wonderful time with our family and friends, celebrating her accomplishments and reaching this milestone! We started the day early with the ceremony and ended with a backyard party at our home…
It’s no secret that Marisa and I love shopping together!
Leading up to graduation we had fun searching for white dresses and planning party outfits. Of course, her outfits were the focus of attention, but mama’s gotta look good too, ha! I want to look back on these photos someday and both of us feel happy with our outfit choices and most importantly, the memory of shopping for them together.
Graduation Day/Ceremony Outfits
Little white dresses are a classic summer staple and we found some great ones along with accessories! The $58 (!) ruffle dress on top left is my personal favorite find. It’s super flattering, lined, and also available in black. We went with classic, everyday makeup and neutral accessories. All of these styles are versatile and will definitely be worn again this summer!

Graduation Party Outfits
For the casual evening party we both went for a tie waist look, with a denim dress (Marisa) and romper (me). I rented this romper from Rent the Runway on a whim and ended up loving it so much I may actually buy it! It was so comfortable and had a flattering fit and length. These adorable Texas Tech red cowboy boots were a last minute find, and she just had to have them to accent the dress! We figured they’d be great for the party and for future college game days…Wreck ‘Em, Tech!!
