I’m not quite sure how it happens, but there are certain pieces in my closet I find myself reaching for again and again. They are the items I feel comfortable in, are versatile, and become sort of a uniform…in the best way! If you’ve bumped into me while out during the week recently, I was probably wearing this outfit or some other nearly identical form of it!
Today I’m sharing how I create a chic pre or post-workout/athleisure look. And to be honest, I wear this look often, whether or not I’ve just worked out! Here are the elements I use to build my outfit:
Leggings: I always choose my leggings first! This pair from Koral is an absolute favorite, and I probably wear them once a week! The fit is fantastic, and they work for many different types of workouts. The best feature of these pants (in my opinion) is the “lustrous” fabric with moto stitching on the front, balanced with matte fabric on back. Its a slightly more subtle way to do shine without going full out. Or, just go for it, and get the full-on Lustrous Leggings…I have both, and love them equally! They also make them in a capri length. If you want the moto look with just a bit of shine, I recommend these. Bandier has all of these styles, and you can get 15% off your purchase there with code andrea15…
Sports Bra: Confession…I’m a sports bra addict and wear them with almost everything! I’m drawn to the ones that are strappy or have unique details. This one is a current favorite and under $50!
Tank: Add a tank…or tee! I usually go with black but this high neck grey tank with cut in shoulders was a fun change. And the quote…so true! Good Hyouman makes these really soft, comfortable tanks and tees with sayings on them…
Non-Athletic Sneakers: This is the key component! Sometimes I wear my Nikes, but I also like to switch them out for a slip on sneaker outside of the gym or studio. I think it adds a little more style! There are so many to choose from lately, but these Vans are an all-time favorite.
Topper/Jacket: Yes…summer’s here, but I’m never without a lightweight jacket or long sleeve top! The a/c in most places is usually cranked up, leaving me feeling chilly indoors. A lightweight anorak/rain coat is the perfect solution! (The one I’m wearing here is currently sold out, but gets restocked often. Hate when that happens!) I wear mine all the time, with jeans, activewear…everything! I like that its long, but has shape to it, thanks to the drawstrings at the waist and hem.
What are your favorite active pieces that you also wear casually? Please share them in the comments Thanks for stopping by!

I was JUST thinking about your vans the other day and how I need to work on my athleisure transitional pieces. You always look flawless btw!
Thank you so much, Mai Lyn! For me, changing out the shoes and having a great jacket or top to throw over makes all the difference. Love the Vans because they aren’t crazy expensive and are super comfortable…a really good deal at $60 for the leather slip ons! Also love adidas, puma, vince….I just love sneakers in general, hehe
