Winter weather in Dallas has been interesting this year to say the least! We’ve had cold, rainy, and unseasonably warm days all within the same week! I’ve definitely picked up the habit of checking the weather to see what the day holds, when I’m deciding what to wear. Plus, my son begs to wear shorts to school everyday, so I have to be sure its warm enough to allow him to do that!
Having a few weather friendly options in your closet you love to wear is key! Today I’m sharing versatile pieces I reach for when the forecast calls for colder temps and/or rain. A water resistant vest or jacket and rain boots are at the top of my list! This vest is fleece-lined but not too bulky looking, thanks to the cinched waist detail. I know, I know…I keep featuring olive green outerwear, but I just love it, plus it goes with everything! You can easily layer your favorite long sleeve sweater, technical top, or a tee under this vest. It has plenty of zippered pockets and a detachable faux fur hood. While I love tall, classic rain boots, I like to have a short rain boot option. I was thrilled to find my favorite style of Sperry boots on sale, in a quilted all-black version! These boots are warm, comfortable, and feel a little less cumbersome than tall boots. I think they look chic paired with jeans and active looks!
