Monochromatic Fall Essentials

How to style a Lace Up top“I’ll stop wearing black when they create a darker color.”  -Wednesday Addams

I unapologetically love the color black.  I used to make excuses when people would remark that I wear a lot of black, but I’ve decided its silly to apologize for wearing something I feel good in!  I enjoy wearing color…sometimes, but I will always gravitate towards darker shades, especially when it comes to activewear.  Black is simple yet sophisticated, and always chic.  Plus, having a selection of all-black pieces speeds the process of choosing an outfit!

I like to keep it interesting by finding pieces that have special details.  Texture, stitching, shine, mesh, and lace-up features are all ways to add interest to a basic black piece.  This look is a nod to my love of an all-black outfit!  See below for details on the pieces that made the cut as monochromatic essentials this season, all under $100…

Lace Up Tank (c/o):  Love when I find a piece I can wear to a workout or on date night!  This Splits59 tank is on trend and versatile due to the soft performance fabric and an inconspicuous black logo.  You can wear it out and no one will know it comes from an activewear brand!  It also looks great tucked into a skirt or high waisted denim.  Splits59 has some amazing pieces this season, be sure to check out their fall collection…and get 15% off your first order when you sign up for their email list.

Moto Leggings:  These never go on sale, but are now 25% off (for the regular waist version)!  If you have been eyeing these, now is a great time to score a pair…you won’t regret it!  I wear mine all the time, for workouts and casually.  The fabric is high quality, opaque, and lightly compressive.  They are a staple piece for me and I always receive compliments when I wear them.  Seriously considering getting the high waist version as a second pair…

Bomber Jacket:  Last winter I fell in love with the bomber jacket!  (Check out this post featuring different ways to style them.)  This season, I’ve added to my collection with this quilted sleeve version, a steal at $35!  It’s also is available in olive, maroon, and pink.  Bombers are the perfect topper for pretty much any outfit this fall!  Note:  This one runs small, so size up one or two sizes depending on how you want it to fit…

Cat Eye Sunglasses:  I’ve said it before, but I always find the best shades in the Nordstrom juniors department.  What’s not to love about getting a new pair of sunnies for $12?  Love the subtle cat eye shape of these!

Adidas Superstar Sneakers:  My go-to’s lately…so incredibly comfortable!

O-Venture “Big O” Key Ring + Card Case:  This black and white snake Big O Key Ring paired with the black Zip Wallet are two things I use every single day.  This combo is the best solution for keeping keys, cards, and cash all in one place.  And, it fits my iPhone, too!
