My Workouts Lately + Mini Dot Mesh

It’s been a while since my last workout post, so I wanted to share what I’ve been up to!  I feel like I say this a lot lately, but our days have felt very “richly scheduled.”  It’s definitely a phase and I know it will slow down a bit as we head into summer!  More than ever, I feel motivated to be consistent with my workouts and use them as an outlet to release stress and regain focus…

Keeping up with my weights + cardio workouts from The Move Project 4 times per week has been key!  (I enjoy the programs and I get a new one every 6-8 weeks for variety.)  I try to do some cardio or walk/run on the days I don’t strength train, just to get moving.  Rest/recovery days are important as well, and I usually take one per week.  I typically work out at a gym close to home which has been very convenient for busy days and has worked well for me.  If you want to try the type of workouts I swear by, be sure to check out my WORKOUT category!  This is where I share full circuit training and home workouts to do on your own…

All that being said, I’ve missed attending classes!  Do you all have any favorites you’ve tried lately?  This coming month, my goal is to schedule 1-2 per week to mix things up (in addition to my strength training, taking the place of some of the cardio I mentioned).  Thinking I need some yoga in my life, maybe some cycling, too!

Ok, on to the outfit!  It’s no secret…one of my favorite ways to stay motivated to work out is to refresh my active wardrobe!  Recently, I visited my local lululemon store on Knox Street and had a fun spring arrivals try-on session.  One thing I’ve always loved about lululemon is while they have a collection of core styles, they also get new styles/colors/prints every week!  I like this because if you find a style that suits you, it can be purchased in different colors or prints as they’re released.  But, if you find something you love it’s a good idea to grab it, because it might not be there next time you visit!

It’s always tough to narrow down my selection in the dressing room, but the pieces with mini polka dot mesh captured my attention!  I had to have both a tank and leggings with this detail!  I like being a little matchy sometimes, so I’ll wear them together as a set or mixed with other pieces in my closet…

If you’re short like me, or just like your leggings to hit at the ankle or a bit shorter, you’ll love these 7/8 length leggings!  These have been my favorite lately, because I can wear them off the rack and don’t have to get them hemmed (although lulu offers free hemming if you need it, and on tanks too).  Another favorite feature is the quick drying fabric and all the pockets…on the sides of the leg, a zippered one on the back waistband, and front of waistband.  These also have a high rise and medium compression, which I love to wear for any workout…looks great with a regular or cropped tank!

This is probably one of the most comfortable tanks I own!  It has a high neck line, racer back, and flattering length.  The cut is fitted, but not too tight and the full back mesh panel is so pretty!  It’s available in a few other colors, and I’ve also linked other short and long sleeve options with mini dot mesh below…
