Last week, I shopped the new Lorna Jane store at NorthPark Center for the first time. Prior to this, I had only viewed the brand online. I was excited to try this brand, as I have heard so may great things about it! The way that the store is laid out makes it easy to browse and select an outfit. Pieces are grouped together in coordinating collections by colors and patterns, but you can mix and match, too.
Lorna Jane features mostly activewear, and mixes in some casual/streetwear, too. There are several pieces that work well to help you transition your active look to errands or lunch with friends. Their signature Excel fabric feels great and looks great on. There are many different styles of pants and shorts with ultra-flattering seaming details. I really liked that most of their tanks have cutouts or straps that allow for their strappy sports bras to peek through. I thought that overall, the selection was great, and from what I have read, it changes often!
One thing that I love, and that really stands out about this brand, is the inspirational vibe of the store and its products. Lorna Jane is an Australian company, and was founded by Lorna Jane Clarkson. She defines Active Living as “Getting more out of your life, by giving more of yourself everyday.” The lifestyle of staying fit and healthy is definitely something that influences this brand. Part of the healthy lifestyle is the motto, “Move Nourish Believe.” There is even a separate website/blog that takes this motto and the Lorna Jane philosophy even further. It features info on exercise and ways to be active in the Move section, healthy recipes in the Nourish section, and motivation and inspiration in the Believe section (movenourishbelieve.com). I spent some time on this site recently, and it is a great resource!
