Let’s talk skin care! Since hitting my mid-thirties, my skin has had it’s share of ups and downs! Prior to that, I never really had issues. This is new territory for me to navigate and I’m learning how to best care for my skin to keep it looking it’s best. Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some of the products I’ve been trying in effort to maintain a clearer, more even complexion…and to minimize the lines and wrinkles that have started to crop up. My hope is that sharing this will be helpful to those of you experiencing the same thing!
I can’t ignore the fact that stress, diet, and quality of sleep make a difference in how my skin behaves. When I start to skimp on sleep and allow foods I know don’t work well for me into my diet too often, I begin to see issues. I’ve learned that when I stick pretty close to the Whole30 lifestyle, I see the best results! (This includes plenty of vegetables, high quality meats, seafood, fruit, eggs, and healthy fats such as avocado and coconut.) I’m not perfect by any means, but I’m trying to keep these factors in check…not only for my skin but for my general wellness. In addition, seeing my esthetician (Sarah Humphries at BellaMD) on a regular basis is a huge help in maintaining healthy skin.
I’m constantly on the look out for skin care products that will be gentle on my skin, while addressing any breakouts, fine lines, and wrinkles. My skin tends to be dry, so finding products that are moisturizing without feeling too heavy can be a challenge. Also important to me are the ingredients in the products. How safe they are and where they come from matters to me! Again, something I’m learning more about and modifying what I use as I go…
I’ve been using Juice Beauty skin care for the past several months. I was excited to try these products because I’ve heard great reviews and they’re made with certified organic ingredients and are cruelty-free. So far, I’ve been very pleased with the Stem Cellular Anti Wrinkle Collection. The Stem Cellular line was designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles with the power of resveratrol-rich organic grapes infused with fruit stem cells and Vitamin C.
This anti-wrinkle moisturizer (above) has become a favorite for daily use. It’s super hydrating, great under makeup, and does not feel heavy or greasy. It makes my skin feel super soft!
