FRISCO FAVORITES: ATHLETA + BARRE3

dallas-fitness-blogger-barre3-frisco-7437dallas-fitness-blogger-barre3-frisco-7245FullSizeRender-5As I’ve mentioned before, I spend my fair share of time in Frisco…

The dance studio Marisa attends is located there.  Recently I had the opportunity to shop Athleta at Stonebriar Center for the first time.  Loved it!  I enjoyed browsing the selection of swimwear, cover-ups, casual clothing, dresses, and of course, active wear!

There were several pieces that caught my eye, but ultimately, the Intertwine Tank and Power Through Mesh Capri came home with me.  I also really liked the simple, yet chic dresses, perfect for hot Texas summers.  I’m definitely going to get one (or more!) as my next Athleta purchase!  See my favorites at the end of this post…

What better place to sport my new Athleta look than to barre3 Frisco!

I tried barre3 for the first time last fall, and enjoy the classes.  It is a great option for me on days I’m going to be in Frisco for a chunk of time while Marisa is at dance.  A Play Lounge is also available (reservations required) for children, making it convenient for busy moms to fit in a workout.  (For more on barre3, check out my previous write up.)  Studio owner, Tammy Hischke, (pictured below) taught the class this time, and it was an awesome workout!  And, I was thrilled to have my friend and fellow blogger, Stephanie Drenka, (who photographed this post), join me!  I always feel energized when I leave, and sore (in the right places) the next day!  In addition to her classes at barre3, Tammy teaches a Complimentary in-store class at Athleta Frisco.  She was so helpful in cueing me for these photos, so I could show some of the movements to expect in a barre3 class.

In-studio, for new clients, they offer a 3 class pack for $30, and $99 for a month unlimited.  AND, barre3 also has a wonderful online subscription program if you are not near a studio, or you prefer to workout at home!  There are different monthly plans available that include 10, 30, 40, and 60 minute workouts.  All of the plans even include seasonal recipes and other resources.  Lots of options!

My outfit was a perfect pick for barre!

I paired it with my favorite leather perforated Vans slip-ons and a slouchy barre3 lightweight sweatshirt.  Details:

  • Intertwine Tank:  Built-in support, with removable cups.  This tank has a seamless design, and felt supportive, yet very comfortable.  Sweat wicking and breathable.  I loved the bright, heathered hot pink color and twist-front detail.
  • Power Through Mesh Capri:  LOVED the body-mapped mesh ventilation details on the sides and back of the legs!  These crops have a smooth, high waistband, and stayed in place during all of the barre movements and floor work.  The fabric was sleek, stretchy, and breathable.

Hi, great pics, info, and overall blog! 🙂 Quick Q: Looking at the barre 3 geometric sweatshirt you have, thinking of getting one, do you mind sharing if sizes run big/small/true? Thanks so much!
