BEYOND PEDALING WITH ELISSA

photo-16The past couple of weeks have flown by!  I was busy preparing for Marisa’s end-of-the-year dance recital, and both sets of our parents were in town visiting.  Recital weekend really is one of my favorite parts of the summer.  I love celebrating Marisa’s accomplishments as a dancer, and watching her on stage doing what she loves is wonderful!  Because I was so busy, I haven’t had the chance to write about what I have been up to lately as far as classes go. So, I am going to be playing a bit of catch up over next few days.  Fortunately, my workouts have been consistent, I just haven’t had a chance to write about all of them!

Last week, I returned to Beyond Pedaling to take a class with Elissa Fairchild.  I signed up for her 8:30am Friday morning class, which turned out to be a very full class.  (I don’t usually go this early, but since my parents were staying at our house and could watch the kids, I was able to head out early to get a workout in.)  After taking Elissa’s class, I understand why the class was packed!  Her teaching style is awesome, so fun and motivating.  She is great at coaching you through the entire workout.  Her cues on form are very helpful, and her transitions with speed and resistance are clear.  I loved the playlist she chose for the class.  One of my favorite parts of the class was the “Thunderstruck Remix” sequence.  Love that song!  I also liked that she ended the class with “You Get What You Give”, another one of my faves.  It was the sweaty, intense workout that I was looking for to give me energy to power my busy “dance mom” weekend!

Thank you, Elissa, for an awesome class!  If you haven’t tried the pedaling classes at Beyond, you need to!  It is a top-notch studio, and they are so friendly and helpful.   Here is what you need to know if you go…
